The next pattern in the Allani collection, a soft, cozy, cable knit slipover.
The Allani Slipover is a drop shoulder cable knit slipover that loosely hugs the body, and designed to be a unisex garment. The center cable, vertebral and bony in appearance, is complimented by classic cables and moss stitch on either side to complete the slipover. The cable pattern is knit from the very beginning, presented along the front and back. Knit from top down, the back is shaped using short rows and the neckline is shaped along the front by picking up the front shoulders along the back panel. The back and front panels are knit flat and the underarms are shaped before being connected into the round. The armhole ribbing is picked up along the front and back panel and knit in the round. The collar is picked up along the back and front where neckline shaping was created, and knit in the round. There are options provided for varying collar lengths and your choice or a regular or split hem. Modification options for fit adjustment, length adjustment, and different yarn weights are provided.
The model is wearing a size 2 with 3 cm [1¼ inches] of positive ease with a chest circumference of 81 cm [31¾ inches].
Difficulty: 2.5/5 - Suitable for intermediate knitters and first time cable knitters. You should be able to read knitting charts and complete basic cable stitches included in the abbreviations section.

Gauge:
26 stitches x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in blocked cable pattern on 4 mm [US 6] needles (Example: 2 repeats of the Cable Chart).
20 stitches x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in blocked double moss stitch on 4 mm [US 6] needles.

The Allani Slipover is designed with 3 - 6 cm [1¼ - 2½ inches] of positive ease at the chest. Positive ease refers to the final garment measuring larger than your initial measurement. It is recommended that you steam or wet block the slipover when measurements are provided to ensure you meet the recommended measurements.
Sizes 1, 2, 3 (4, 5, 6, 7) 8, 9, 10 are based on a chest circumference of 70-73, 78-81, 86-89 (94-97, 104-107, 116-119, 126-129) 134-137, 142-145, 150-153 cm [27½-28¾, 30¾-32, 33¾-35 (37-38¼, 41-42¼, 45¾-46¾, 49¾-50¾) 52¾-54, 56-57, 59-60¼ inches].
To choose your size:
1. Measure your chest at its widest circumference, making sure the measuring tape is snug but not too tight. You should be able to fit a finger underneath the measuring tape.
2. Add 3-6 cm [1¼ - 2½ inches] to your chest measurement to account for positive ease.
3. Use the resulting measurements when selecting your size.
For example, if your chest circumference measures 100 cm [39½ inches], knit a size 4 for 0 cm [0 inches] of positive ease, or a size 5 for 10 cm [4 inches] of positive ease.
