About Us

Pearl by Rae by Meghan Haughton is a multidiciplanry artist, currently specializing in knitwear design and yarn dyeing, based on Treaty 1 Land in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

                

She learnt to knit as a child and returned to the craft as an adult where she became immersed in the online knitting community. After years of self-drafting her own knitting patterns and mastering the craft, she began designing her own knitwear patterns in late 2024 and began selling them under the label Pearl by Rae in 2025. She has since began to expand her work as a fibre artist by delving into the artistry off hand dyed yarn though self-teaching and experiementation.  

As an independent and one-woman show, she has created her brand from the ground up over the course of 1 year and has since become a prominent up and coming knitwear designer within the fibre arts space. In late 2026 she will have one of her patterns published by Laine Publishing, a Finnish publishing house forcused on knitting. She currently teaches beginner knitting and crochet lessons with the Winnipeg yarn store, Purl and Hank, where she introduces creatives to the craft of fibre art.

Through her brand and alongside Purl and Hank she is currently hosting a community building event, the Thalia Knit-Along, where knitters from around the world can come together and create her bestselling Thalia patterns together. 

Through perserverance and dedicated hard work, she aims to continue growing her collection of Pearl by Rae knitwear design patterns, as well as exploring other forms of artistic mediums, to bring artistry and creativity to the forfront of her work.
